My Bailiwick

Dear Pilgrims,

I am spending the day with clergy colleagues, revisiting boundary and power dynamics in ministry. It’s always good to reflect on the work we do, but I’m especially aware of how fortunate I am to be serving as your minister here at Pilgrim, with people for whom I have such respect and affection. Thank you, friends!

I know we’re heading into summer mode, but there are some things ahead. Our congregational meeting is Sunday after worship on June 19. It’s really an important event in the life of a congregation. We decide on a budget, hear from church leaders about the year just past and the hopes for the year ahead. This year we will be voting on the proposal from the Church Council to hire a Director of Faith Formation ministries. You will soon receive a big packet of information. Please look through the pages and join me in gratitude for all that Pilgrim has done and hopes to do!

And there are other events coming up—a piano concert with Jessica and Patrick, two memorial services remembering loved ones who have left us, CHUM’s rhubarb festival, Vacation Bible School.

I’ll love seeing you as often as possible over these next few summer weeks, and hearing about your summer adventures.

Love,
Carla
