My Bailiwick

Dear Pilgrims,
It's a time for anniversaries - today remembering the death of George Floyd, yesterday the Uvalde school shooting, tomorrow Warren and Carla's 44th wedding anniversary, every year, the Memorial Day anniversary remembering those who have died in wars.  And, it being Pentecost this Sunday, it's the anniversary of the birth of the Christian Church.  Flowers and cake and vigils and parades and prayers will all be offered this weekend, as they should be.  We are a remembering people.  I hope to see you in worship this Sunday, but if not, I'll assume you are someplace doing some of your own remembering.
Love to you all,
Carla

P.S. As I learn the things Patrick did practically without needing to think about them, I humbly ask your patience!

Chum 50th Anniversary

On Sunday, June 4, Chum will host an interfaith Service of Thanksgiving to kick off its 50th anniversary of service to the Northland. This Thanksgiving Service will serve as a powerful symbol of unity, compassion, and faith as we stand beside those in need. The service, which takes place at First United Methodist Church, 230 E Skyline Pkwy at 3:00 pm, will feature representatives from various faith traditions who will lead us in prayers, readings, and reflections centered around gratitude, compassion, and the importance of community support.  And don't forget to volunteer or at least visit CHUM's rhubarb festival on June 24th!

Changes at Pilgrim

As you know, Patrick has left his administrative position at Pilgrim (though we're thankful to know he'll continue to gift us with his music leadership).  We are on the brink of hiring a new secretary - look for an announcement by next Thursday (keep your fingers crossed).
