eNews for Thursday, November 3

My Bailiwick

Dear Pilgrims,

November begins with a remembrance of all our loved ones who have died this past year. It’s a somber thanksgiving as we honor their presence in our lives. I hope you’ll be with us for this worship service. We will also be celebrating communion, prepared and served by our confirmands and their mentors. As we move into this season of short days and long nights, let us gather with our loving Pilgrim community for strength, comfort, and courage.

Love,
Carla

Women's Fellowship

All Pilgrim women are invited to gather on Tuesday, November 8, at 1:30 pm in the church parlor. This will be a monthly event on the second Tuesday of the month. At this initial gathering, we will discuss what we would like to do as a group going forward. Come with ideas and enjoy time together with your fellow Pilgrims!

Pilgrim Women's Book Club

Pilgrim Women’s Book Club will meet Monday, November 14, at 4:00 pm via Zoom. This month we are reading Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward. This book won four national awards and was a finalist for seven more.

Part ghost story, part road novel, this historic National Book Award winner is a dazzling journey through Mississippi’s past and present and an epic tale of hope and survival.

Because this is a Book in a Bag selection from the Duluth Public Library there are several copies available in the church office. Stop in and sign one out. You don’t need a library card to do that. The book you sign out will be due back in the church office on Wednesday, November 16, by 2:00 pm.

Hope to see you on Zoom..

There's a new (Spanish-language) cast album of Company starring Antonio Banderas, and it's so fabulous.
